Community

The city of Sale has a long and proud relationship with the RAAF stretching back more than 65 years. RAAF Base East Sale is very much part of the Sale and Wellington Shire community. RAAF Base East Sale personnel (including families) make up a large part of Sale’s population. The people of Sale and the surrounding towns have welcomed the RAAF personnel into the community and that relationship now traverses sporting, recreational and employment related activities throughout the Shire. The community is also extremely supportive of the base and its personnel. That close relationship is a feature of a posting to East Sale. Young people are particularly well supported through a range of services which can be searched in the Youth Directory Directory.
The regional business community has embraced and supported the presence of the RAAF in the Shire and will continue to provide any support necessary to maintain a strong presence in Sale.
With a broad range of facilities and activities, (sport, surf, lakes, snow, indoor pool and gym) it is a great place to live and to raise a family.

Defence Community Organisation

DCO offers a broad range of programs and services to help Defence families make the most of the challenges and opportunities provided by the military way of life. East Sale Family Group Inc

The goal of East Sale Family Group Inc is to support and enrich the lives of families within the Defence community through a range of activities designed to foster friendships, establish support networks and share information. Operating out of the Community Centre at RAAF Base East Sale, (next to Tracey’s Place, Cafe and Post Office) are the following groups andl activities:
